Part of our women’s trainers collection (Gravity) holds the INESCOP certification, which guarantees that the chemical nature of all its components does not correspond to fibres of animal origin (specifically fur, leather, silk, wool or down).

When it comes to sustainability, at mtng we believe that the content is just as important as the container. That’s why most of the elements of our product packaging are made from recycled materials and are fully recyclable, so that you are the one who closes the loop. That’s why every time you receive an mtng order, you’re helping to care for the environment.

mtng packaging is made from recycled materials under the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certification, a global organisation dedicated to promoting responsible and sustainable forest management.
Our pair box (MTNG and MM) bears the label “FSC MIXED” with the licence number granted to the packaging supplier. Products bearing this label are made from a blend of materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled materials… all of them controlled by this organisation.
The individual bag in which each shoe or handbag comes is a Micro-Pak MPX2 anti-mould Polybag made from 100% recycled LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene), recyclable after use. The hemp cord is completely recyclable.
Leather Working Group
Leather Working Group (LWG) is a global multi-stakeholder community committed to building a sustainable future with responsible leather. It is a non-profit organisation that promotes best practices and positive social and environmental change for responsible leather production.
What is the LWG?
Leather Working Group is an international non-profit organisation and the body responsible for the world’s largest leather sustainability programme.
LWG aims to improve the environmental impact of the leather industry by evaluating and certifying leather manufacturers.
This standard is used to evaluate leather manufacturers in the following areas:
- Water and energy use.
- Solid waste and effluent management.
- Air and noise emissions.
- Traceability.
- Health and safety.
- Chemical management.
- Restricted substances, compliance and chromium VI (CrVI) management.
Water based PU
PU leather is a synthetic material made with water-based polyurethane. It does not contain certain toxic organic solvents, greatly reduces energy consumption and waste, and achieves low-carbon production. It is free from DMFa and VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and is harmless to humans.
What is Water based PU?
Water based PU leather (also known as solvent-free PU leather or DMF-free PU leather) is developed using leading international process technology and equipment. This material uses water-based polyurethane resin with no solvents, achieving a DMF content of zero, and complies with regulations such as REACH, RoHS and Oeko-Tex 100. Compared to the traditional synthetic leather process, it significantly reduces energy consumption and waste generation, achieving low-carbon, environmentally friendly production.
Advantages of DMF-free PU leather over traditional synthetic leathers:
- Water based PU is soft and smooth.
- It contains no DMF.
- The manufacturing process is environmentally friendly: it eliminates solvents and chemicals, and contains no harmful substances such as heavy metals.
Recycled material
At the start of each campaign, we work in detail on all the materials that will be used in each collection. Always seeking to improve the supply chain and our manufacturing processes, with each campaign we incorporate more recycled materials.
Part of our collection is crafted in the cutting stage using recycled materials. The use of these materials reduces the consumption of raw materials.
What recycled materials are used in our products?
Within our collections, certain products use a percentage of recycled materials. Among these, the Persea and Tanubis boots stand out, where the main upper composition is 30% post-consumer recycled Polyester and 70% Polyester. Additionally, products such as Aria, Bequia and Denver, whose main material is canvas, contain 60% pre-consumer cotton and 40% conventional cotton.
